Our Program

The Community Services Block Grant provides federal funding to community action agencies that work to address poverty at the community level. ASPIRE Self-Sufficiency serves clients across Cumberland and Sampson Counties.

ASPIRE Program Eligibility

Individuals are selected for the program based on: Cumberland or Sampson County residency, federal income requirements, and a commitment to full participation in the ASPIRE program to include obtaining employment.

Stabilization Assistance

Stabilization Assistance provides an immediate response to household emergency needs. This includes the prevention of court-ordered eviction, rental assistance, financial assistance for establishing affordable housing, and utility assistance. Budget counseling and referrals to other community resources and services are provided where appropriate. Stabilization services are provided in collaboration with many community partners, including local faith-based entities.
