Topeka Heights Beautification
March 11, 2019 @ 8:00 am - March 15, 2019 @ 11:00 am
The Head Start Center at Topeka Heights is embarking upon a beautification project to ensure a bright and happy garden area for enrolled children. This spring, children at the center will be able to enjoy hands-on activities outside in their newly structured recess area.
Volunteers will help to rake and clean the area before creating individual fun projects that little ones can enjoy, all while improving upon special skills and learning blocks identified as priority indicators for each respective healthy and well-adjusted age range. At Head Start, children learn through play to ensure school readiness. While playing, children can identify bright colors and interesting shapes, enhance motor skills and balance, and learn key skills like sharing, listening and helpfulness.
Volunteers are welcome at select times March 11 -15. Interested individuals must contact Barbara Barr-Johnson at (910) 425-8733.
