Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina has received $10,000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation just in time to help feed area residents. Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina will use the gift to provide additional meals for neighbors in need who face daily hunger.

“We would like to thank Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation for its commitment to serve and support food banks. Ending hunger is a cause that we both share,” said Interim Director Cortez Phillip.

The gift will fund programs assisting children, individuals and families who will benefit by receiving wholesome, nutritious food. Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina, a program of Action Pathways, Inc., works tirelessly to fight hunger one day at a time. Its mission is to feed, advocate, educate, and develop partnerships to meet the nutritional needs of the community by way of solicitation and distribution of healthy foods.
Currently, Second Harvest Food Bank secures, stores, and distributes more than 13 million pounds of food annually.
