Head Start Staff Tell Us Why They Love Their Jobs

Heindselman For Website.jpg"I enjoy having the opportunity to enrich the lives of children." - Erica Heindselman, Less than 1 year of Service

Being able to offer high-quality early education to children who might not otherwise receive it is one of the primary reasons Erica Heindselman is a lead teacher with Head Start. She knows the first 2,000 days of a child's life are when brains are built, and she feels privileged that she is helping to set the foundation for years to come.

Williams for Website.jpg"I started off as a Teacher Assistant and then a Bus Driver. Now, I’m a Family Advocate! I didn’t see myself like that. I was encouraged to apply, and now, I get to help families and their children." ("Empecé como asistente de maestro, luego como conductor de autobús. Ahora, soy un Trabajador de Familia! No me veía así. Me animaron a solicitar y ahora puedo ayudar a las familias ya sus hijos.") - Angela Williams, 8+ Years of Service

Angela Williams didn't realize that when she began her career with Head Start that she would eventually land in the Corporate Office. Although she is no longer working in the classroom, she knows her work still directly touches the lives of approximately 1,100 Head Start children on a daily basis.
